PM Launches 'PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana' to Empower 1 Crore Households

On 13th February, 2024, Prime Minister announced the launch of the 'PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana' to provide free electricity to one crore households, with an investment exceeding Rs 75,000 crore.

  • Sustainable Development Focus: Emphasizing sustainable progress and the well-being of citizens, Modi highlighted the initiative's aim to support sustainable development through accessible electricity.
  • Direct Subsidies and Concessional Loans: The government will provide substantive subsidies directly to bank accounts and offer heavily concessional bank loans, ensuring no cost burden on the people.
